“Police have taken a man into custody after a fatal shooting Monday night that left one man dead in Phoenix.
Phoenix police officers responded to sounds of multiple gunshots at 9 p.m. near the 1800 block of East Adams Street, according to Sgt. Trent Crump.
The victim and another unidentified witness were standing on a sidewalk when a gunman approached them from behind, police said. The gunman started yelling and opened fired, striking the victim, before fleeing on foot, according to police.
Police established a perimeter around the scene and located the suspect in the surrounding area.
Phoenix police detectives were still working the scene as of Tuesday morning.”
