Naegle & Crider Community Scholarship
Spring 2016, Fall 2016

Introduction
Attorney Charlie Naegle has been serving the East Valley for over a decade and has established a reputation as a relentless community advocate. A native of Arizona and the East Valley, Mr. Naegle has always had a sense of pride for his community and the schools that laid the foundation for his career.

Soon after founding Naegle & Crider Criminal Defense Attorneys, Charlie started a scholarship program as a way to give back to the community where he is now raising a family. The goal of the program is to assist eligible applicants in furthering their education goals.

Who Can Apply
The Naegle & Crider Criminal Defense Attorneys Community Scholarship is open to high school or college students of any major. To be eligible for the 2016/2017 awards, high school students must be on track to graduate by May 2017 and college students must show current or future enrollment in a degree program at the time of application. All applicants must reside in the state of Arizona. The scholarship can be used for tuition, housing, school supplies or student transportation costs.

How To Apply
When applying for the Naegle & Crider Criminal Defense Attorneys Community Scholarship, submit your name, email, enrolled school, estimated graduation date, explaination of academic and professional pursuits, activities and community involvement, employment history, essay and honor pledge, stating the work being submitted is your own and accurate in an email to scholarship@naeglelawfirm.com.

The essay must be 500 words and be in response to the following prompt:

A group of your classmates were recently involved in a deadly car crash. Police say all three students in the car had a blood alcohol level that was over the legal limit and a woman passed away after being hit head on by the vehicle driven by your classmates. What can you, along with your community, do to get the message across that drinking and driving kills?

Deadlines
Students must submit entries by May 5th to be considered for the award given in May 2016.

Students must submit entries by December 31st to be considered for the award given in January 2017.

Entries received prior to the May 5th deadline will not be considered again for the December 31st deadline. Eligible students can enter again with a revised essay. Previous award recipients are not eligible for future awards.

Award Amount
One gift of $500 will be awarded May 2016 and one gift of $500 will be awarded January 2017.

Selection Process and Notification
The Naegle & Crider Community Scholarship Committee will review each application and notify the winning student of their award by telephone and email.
